Our Program
Structure
A structured environment is critical for managing the
population we serve! At Dimondale, many of the youth we serve have
difficulty with things most adults take for granted. Examples include basic
hygiene, mealtimes, school attendance, and/or productive use of free time.
Education
Many of our residents come from
an an environment that fails to recognize the
importance of education for future quality-of-life. DACF recognizes that school can be a major challenge for abused, emotionally
troubled, or at-risk youth. School attendance is a required part of our
program. Whenever possible, our residents are enrolled in a traditional
public school, but we also recommend Community Day Schools or other
educational options for those children with special needs. Options and
information regarding higher education, trade schools, or military service
are shared with each resident, and special arrangements are made for a child
who expresses interest in pursuing any of her long-term educational or
career goals.
Supervision
Behavior modification requires continual intervention
when limits are exceeded.
Therapy
Our clients receive a variety of therapeutic services,
each tailored to the child's individual needs.
Social Graces
It is important to our philosophy that the children in
our care learn to treat others with respect and courtesy, and to exhibit
proper self-care and hygiene.
Personal Responsibility
Part of our mission at Dimondale is to teach our
residents that each bears responsibility for her own successful life
outcome.
